Which Part of Vancouver is Surrey?

Surrey is not part of Vancouver. Furthermore, Surrey is not even next to Vancouver. There are three cities between Vancouver and Surrey:

  • Richmond

  • New Westminster

  • Burnaby

However, Surrey is not far from Vancouver and Surrey is part of the Metro Vancouver area. The travel time between the two cities is around 35 minutes. Surrey may be close to Vancouver, but it is its own city and is quickly reaching the population of Vancouver.

Surrey is a city located in the province of British Columbia. The city of Surrey is the second-largest city by population in the province of BC, after Vancouver.


The city of Surrey is home to a number of popular attractions including the Surrey Arts Centre, which hosts a variety of live performances and exhibitions throughout the year. There are also multiple museums and historical sites in Surrey, such as the Historic Stewart Farm which offers visitors a glimpse into the lives of early Surrey settlers.

Surrey has a strong economy with a large number of businesses operating in the city, particularly in the technology and manufacturing sectors. The city of Surrey is also home to several post-secondary institutions, including Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus.

Surrey is not a part of Vancouver

In terms of transportation, Surrey is well-connected to the rest of Metro Vancouver. The city is served by several major highways, including Highway 1, and is also connected to Vancouver and other nearby cities by an extensive public transit network.
